5 Little Firefighters Song

Fire Safety Theme

No little fire trucks waiting at the hall But here they come back to their stalls With sirens quiet and all made right 5 great big fire trucks say good night. Five Little Firefighters. Five little firefighters (show five fingers) Sleeping in a row. (rest cheeks on hands & close eyes) Ring goes the bell-Down the pole they go. (Pretend to slide.

5 Little Firefighters Song Lyrics

Family Escape Plan
Have a family meeting and plan an escaperoute in case of a fire. Make sure that you have at least two ways to exitthe room. Have mom or dad draw the plans on a piece of paper. Practiceyour escape plan on a regular basis - at least once a month. Remember thatyour plan should have a meeting place that is safe outside of the home. ie. the big oak tree on the corner; a neighbors front yard; be consistentwith the 'safe place' so children are not confused when it comes time fora real emergency!

Practicing 9-1-1 and Street Address
Practice calling 9-1-1 on a play phone withyour child. Have your child tell you what they might say to the dispatcherif there were a fire or another emergency at your home. Work withyour child so that they know their address.

Remembering 9-1-1
If your child is young, and has troubleremembering the correct sequence of 9-1-1 - Place a small red circle stickeron the 9, and 2 small green circle stickers on the 1 - Practice saying'red, green, green' with your child. Sometimes it is easier for themto remember their colors than it is to remember numbers!
